Your partner in

better mental health

Marie Zahorick, MS, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, IBCLC is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about supporting people through the emotional and physical changes of pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. She is one of only a handful of nurse practitioners triple board-certified in lactation, family nurse practice and psychiatric-mental health nurse practice.

She became a La Leche League Leader in 1999 and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2005, and has supported families with lactation care in inpatient, outpatient, and NICU settings. With advanced training in psychiatry, including a psychiatry fellowship and post-master’s certification, Marie provides thoughtful psychiatric evaluation and medication management, with a special focus on women’s mental health during pregnancy and lactation.

As the wife and granddaughter of Army veterans, one of her special interests is veterans and first responders, especially those with PTSD or other trauma.

Marie works with individuals experiencing a wide range of concerns, including perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, postpartum psychosis, hormonal mood disorders, and substance use disorders. Her approach is collaborative and evidence-based—grounded in listening, clear education, and a shared plan that fits your goals, values, and season of life.

Based in the Chicago area, Marie brings both clinical expertise and a warm, down-to-earth style to her work with individuals and families. She strives to create a supportive space where you feel understood and empowered as you move toward feeling better.
